Rev Dr Richard Waugh is the Senior Pastor of East City Wesleyan and has more than 25 years of pastoral experience. His ministry style is collegial and he is always keen to encourage younger people in their Christian faith and leadership development. A well known evangelical Church leader Richard is committed to unity and co-operation in the wider Body of Christ. He currently chairs the Auckland Church Leaders Meeting and is secretary of the National Church Leaders Meeting. Over the years Richard has had extensive community involvement and continues as Honorary Chaplain to the Guild of Air Pilots & Air Navigators (NZ Region).Richard has a BA in New Zealand history and Religious Studies from Massey University, L.Th and S.Th theological diplomas from the Joint Board of Theological Studies, an Executive MBA from the University of Auckland (dissertation on clergy recruitment) and graduated in 2010 with a D.Min degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in the United States. His dissertation “Discover Your Wesleyan DNA” won the Faculty Distinguished Dissertation award.
He is a founding leader of the Wesleyan Methodist movement in New Zealand and has served since 2002 as National Superintendent of the growing network of churches. He is a member of the World Methodist Council executive
Richard is a leading New Zealand aviation historian and author of many airline books and was awarded the Queen’s Service Medal (QSM) in the 2007 Queen’s Birthday Honours List “for services to aviation history and the community”. He is married to Jane, an Architect, and they have three children.

Rev. Drew Donovan and his wife Amy come from the East coast of Canada from the province of New Brunswick where they both grew up attending Wesleyan churches and accepted God’s call to work full time in his service. Drew is the associate pastor of Youth and Music and is a graduate of Bethany Bible College. He has served as a youth and worship pastor for more than 10 years in the North American church. Drew and Amy have one daughter.

Lay Pastor Viona Schulz has had experience as an early childhood educator, career counsellor and playgroup co-ordinator. Viona is currently home-educating her children Savannah, Juliet and Daniel and is wife to Derek. She is passionate about families and seeing children grow in the knowledge of God and His awesome love for them.Servant Leaders
